A good day
Ah, February 21st, good ol’ 2-21. Here’s a few people and things that share my birthday.
-Mikhail I is unanimously elected czar, beginning the Romanov dynasty (Good, if you’re a Romanov, bad if you’re a serf)
-the Communist Manifesto is published (Does this automatically make me a pinko commie? DEATH TO THE PROLETARIAT!! I guess so…)
-the Washington Monument is dedicated (Giant phallic symbols are always good)
-the battle of Verdun begins (A battle that lasts a year and costs each side a million men for a tie= epic fail)
-the New Yorker publishes its first issue (Good, unless you ain’t into that fancy readin’)
-NASCAR is incorporated (BAD, just plain bad)
-Francis Crick and James D. Watson discover the structure of the DNA molecule (Good for science= good for all of us…until ninja zombie chihuahuas are genetically engineered)
-the Peace symbol is designed (Good, especially if you own a VW bus and are looking for something to hang from your rearview mirror)
-Malcom X is assassinated (Bad, he had just recently come back from his hajj and decided that not all of us honkies were necessarily devils)
-Steve Fossett becomes the first person to cross the Pacific in a balloon (Meh, a guy with too much time and money does something completely pointless to boost his ego. My guess, to compensate a small dangle)
-Jeanne Calment, the longest lived human on record is born, but Shigechiyo Izumi, the longest lived man on record dies (Umm, I’m gonna call this one a push)
-Alan Rickman is born (SNAPE!!!!)
